Nexus #: FP-06
Civilian Designation: Olken City, Unknown
Permanent Population: ~32,000
Area Class: Free Port
Nexus Interaction Protocol: All Civilians questioned are amicable towards the Foundation staff, however, will deign to respond to certain questions regarding the leadership and nature of this Nexus. Most civilians display a high level of knowledge related to the anomalous and groups associated with it.
Due to the nature of FP-06, it is largely self-contained. All internal entrances are patrolled by city guards seemingly in order to avoid disturbance of the Veil. Thus Foundation efforts are to be focused on the exploration of the nexus, as well as research on its history and leadership.
MTF Mu-2 (Travelling Tourists) has been assigned to investigate this Nexus. All members of Mu-2 have been debriefed upon arrival at Site-45. This unit will spend a month within FP-06 gathering data on the Nexus itself and its inhabitants.
Any personnel entering FP-06 are advised to remove as much metal from their person as possible after incident FP06-01.
Description: Olken city is a pocket universe that acts as a large production and distribution centre for groups such as the Factory and Blackbox Industries. Observation performed by MTF Mu-2 has shown that the pocket universe containing FP-06 is spherical in shape, possessing a radius of 2 miles. The city is known by the locals for their gangs and black market crime. The Nexus is characterized by evenly-spaced and heavily damaged metal pillars, 5 meters across, composed of various thaumaturgically-enhanced metals (though a majority are of coal).
A high majority of civilians living in this nexus have certain anomalous abilities relating to their local pillar. This includes basic attributes such as heightened senses and increased mobility (coal), alongside more advanced abilities such as metal-based telekinesis(bauxite).
The entrances/ Ways to Olken City change every month. Currently, all instances of Ways have been on ley lines near large pockets of metal. However, it is assumed that the current known ruling body (þrír bússǫld) have a hand in the creation and positioning of such Ways.
Notice for any personnel entering this Nexus: FP-06 has a semi-organised crime system overseen by a "Thieves Guild". One can purchase a 40ℕ pass monthly from said guild to prevent theft of possessions, passes are available upon request for any level 4 clearance researchers.
The currency used in FP-06 is a monetary system called the"Njǫrd (ℕ)", this currency has an exchange rate of one Njǫrd to 1.25 dollars. The coin is similar to an old British sovereign coin; however, instead depict three pillars on one side, and a factory on the other.
Olken City's economy appears to be heavily based on exports. Many factories appear to have permanent Ways to ferry goods out of the Nexus to their respective stores and businesses. It is currently unknown where these Ways lead due to tight security measures.
Estimated prior location of Olken City before displacement
Olken City bears a large topological similarity to an area of land in South Wales as pictured.
It has been hypothesized that Olken City was once a prominent paranormal mining town in Wales that was stabilised by various thaumaturgically-enhanced metal pillars. Much of Olken City consists of heavily interlocked factories and mining camps clustered around these pillars in smaller communities.
Around 1807, the town of Olken ceased being recorded in all official documents with no cited reason. Owing to the decay currently observed in aforementioned pillars, it can be assumed that the community tried mining the pillars themselves; however, this caused them to gradually become cut off from the main timeline due to the destruction of the thaumaturgic seals. Furthermore, multiple missing person reports from the area suggests Olken was still faintly tethered up until the late 1840s.
An investigation into links with the GoI-006,The Factory is currently being pursued.

Researcher Ball was tasked with interviewing a nearby civilian from within the nexus. The interview log is below:
Staff: Researcher Ball
Location: Olken City
Date: 22/03/2013, 15:20.
Researcher Ball: Heya, sorry I am new here and wondered if I could ask some questions?
Civilian: Aight?
Researcher Ball: I hail from Ontario, Canada. I am a scientist by trade, you?
Civilian: Blacksmith, I work with metal and shit.
Researcher Ball: I see, where do you work?
Civilian: Over by that copper pillar. [ civilian gestures north towards one of the more decrepit pillars ]
Researcher Ball: Fascinating! do you like your job?
Civilian: It ain't too bad, at least we get paid.
Researcher Ball: Some of you don't?
Civilian: Weelll… the Factory has its own supply of labour if you know what I mean.
Researcher Ball: Oh dear, I assume you live in here?
Civilian: Sorta, the upper levels are for housing, the top level is where the þrír bússǫld are. [ civilian makes praying motions ]
Researcher Ball: The who?
Civilian: Uh, they are the people who lead our prosperous City. [ Civilian seems to become nervous and makes more praying symbols ]
Researcher Ball: Oh? Would I be able to speak to one of them?
Civilian: Speak to them! No no, I don't think you quite understand. I— I have to go. [ civilian runs off ]
Addenda - 3 (02/04/2013):
Mu-2 was tasked with capturing a civilian and bringing them in for questioning.
Mission Controller: Jason Ward, MTF Mu2-1.
Location: Olken City Hub
Date: 25/03/2013, 19:45.
Notes: The civilian is to be questioned on the leaders of the Nexus and their occupation.
Mu-2 arrives in a copper based commune in plain-clothes.
Mu2-1: "Quick grab and leg it Will, any one of them will do."
Mu2-2: [To Unknown] Hey, can I ask you a question quickly?
Unknown: "Yeah sure go ah—"
A muffled zap is heard from Mu2-1's microphone.
Mu2-1: Alright, chuck him in the bag. The closest Way out of here is through the Eitri Elevator.
Around 7 minutes pass.
Mu2-4: You ready Jason? Charlie is waiting on the other side for you.
Mu2-1: Yep, we are good to go. Head on through.
MTF Mu2 was recovered from St Lawrence Market in Toronto, Canada. An interview log with the civilian is attached below.
Interviewed: FP-06 Copper worker, Eloy Silver.
Interviewer: MTF Mu2-1, Jason Ward.
Foreword: Eloy Silver was recovered in an alley near a local bar.
<Begin Log>
Eloy: "Look, I ain't quite sure why ya want me. But I can't help ya."
Eloy points to his empty, open wallet.
Eloy: "I can't pay ya anything."
Mu2-1: It isn't payment we want, you are a worker from this Olken City, correct?
Eloy: Of course, in that area it would be suicide not to be, unless you were with the thieves guild.
Mu2-1: Who controls the city?
Eloy: Well, technically the þrír bússǫld control the whole system, but no one has ever seen them.
Mu2-1: This "þrír bússǫld" what, or who, are they?
Eloy: I ain't gonna be able to tell you that.
Mu2-1: That question was non-negotiable. What are they?
Eloy: I really can't say, trust me lad.
Mu2-1: Will, get the thumbscrews, would yo— [ There is a thump and Mu2-1 can be heard groaning faintly ]
Eloy: I would much prefer if you didn't, thanks. Bringing me to a room full of metal, what the fuck were you thinking?
Mu2-3: Stand back from him or I will fire.
A huge crash was heard along with tinkling metal
Eloy: Honestly, why do I even bother speaking?
A further screech of metal was heard
The room at Site-57 was found to be warped and partially melded in places, the heavy metal door had been forcefully bent open. Both Mu2-1 and Mu2-3 were recovered successfully from below lumps of metal made from the service duct. The subject was unable to be found.
